JOHN MOORE（ジョンムーア）という
アメリカの画家による作品集になります。

JOHN MOOREは
米国ミズーリ州東部のセントルイスで
1941年に生まれた人物。

彼は1999 年から 2009 年まで
ペンシルバニア大学美術学部議長を務めながら
作品製作にも取り組んでいました。

その作品はメトロポリタン美術館
フィラデルフィア美術館
IBMコーポレーション
イェール大学アートギャラリー
シカゴ美術館などに所蔵されています。

彼の絵画は一連の景色の要素を通して空間を重ねていく手法で
作品の大半がすぐ前景にオブジェクトを配置し
遠く離れた別の要素を描写しています。

何か遮るものがありつつも
それを超えた向こう側に見る情景を描写した
作品が多く存在します。

絵画のタッチは実写感がありつつも
どこか非現実な表現が含まれているような感覚です。

実物作品を見たことはありませんが
アートとして自分の空間に取り入れて見たくなるような
異様な魅力があります。

This is a collection of works by JOHN MOORE, an American painter.

JOHN MOORE was born in 1941 in St. Louis, eastern Missouri, USA.

He served as Chair of the Department of Art at the University of Pennsylvania from 1999 to 2009, while also producing artwork.

His work is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, IBM Corporation, Yale University Art Gallery, and the Art Institute of Chicago.

His paintings are layered in space through a series of scenic elements, with the majority of his work placing objects in the immediate foreground to depict other, more distant elements.

Many of his paintings depict scenes that are obstructed by something, but are seen beyond it.

The touch of the paintings has a realistic feel, but also contains some unrealistic expression.

I have never seen the actual works, but they have an unusual charm that makes me want to incorporate them into my space as art.

I found this book in a used bookstore in New York.

The taste of the binding, the The choice of paper also had a good atmosphere.
