ウィスキーブランド「WHITE HORSE」の灰皿になります。

WHITE HORSE（ホワイトホース）は、スコッチ・ウイスキーの銘柄であり、1881年に起業家ピーター・マッキーによって立ち上げられたブランド。

ホワイトホースの名前は、マッキーの家の近所であり、エディンバラ城にほど近いスコットランド軍の酒場兼定宿であった「白馬亭（ホワイトホースセラー）」に由来します。

ラベルの白馬は白馬亭の看板を描いたもので、下に刻まれた「1742」は白馬亭の創業年になります。

今回は、70-80年代に作られたと推定される陶器の灰皿になります。

蹄鉄（ていてつ）と呼ばれる、馬の蹄に付ける金具の形をモチーフにしたデザイン、大きめのサイズ感、黄身色がかった色味、大変雰囲気のある灰皿だと思います。

タバコやお香などを入れる灰皿としても良いですが、小物入れのように空間を飾るインテリアとして使って見ることもおすすめです。

This is an ashtray from the WHITE HORSE whiskey brand.

WHITE HORSE is a Scotch whisky brand and was launched in 1881 by entrepreneur Peter Mackie.

The name "White Horse" comes from the "White Horse Cellar," which was a Scottish military tavern and inn in the neighborhood of Mackie's house, close to Edinburgh Castle.

The white horse on the label depicts the sign of the White Horse Cellar, and "1742" engraved below is the year the cellar was founded.

The present piece is a ceramic ashtray estimated to have been made in the 70s or 80s.

The design is based on the shape of a teitetsu, a metal fixture attached to the hoof of a horse, and the large size and yellowish coloring give the ashtray a very atmospheric feel.

It is good as an ashtray for cigarettes, incense, etc., but we also recommend using it as an interior decoration to decorate your space, like a small accessory box.
